Process

Pottery is a labor and time intensive process. Each piece has to go through multiple stages of shaping, handling, drying and decorating. Each piece then goes through a bisque firing that takes several days of heating and cooling to strengthen it before it can be glazed and fired in the glaze kiln - which is a hotter firing than the first one.
